Dental veneers can be used to correct a variety of both dental health and cosmetic concerns: misshapen teeth, gaps between teeth, damaged teeth or stained teeth. Dr. Freano offers dental veneers, including porcelain veneers, to help patients achieve the smile they desire and improve overall dental health.
Porcelain veneers provide durable, stain resistant and permanent cosmetic treatment that is designed to blend with a patient’s natural smile. Made from ultra-thin, translucent material, porcelain veneers enable Dr. Freano to address a variety of dental concerns working closely with patients to ensure the end result is comfortable, natural looking and lasting.
It is important that any underlying dental problems be diagnosed and addressed for any dentistry to provide lasting results, including porcelain veneers. As a practitioner of complete dentistry, Dr. Freano takes the time to analyze a patient’s entire occlusal system and look for imbalances that will compromise results.
The Porcelain Veneer Process
Your dental procedure begins with a comprehensive dental exam and consultation with Dr. Freano to determine that porcelain veneers are the most suitable solution for you and discuss expected results.
The porcelain veneer procedure usually takes 2 or 3 visits to our Lexington dentist office. Dr. Freano will prepare your teeth for the veneers by removing a small amount of the natural tooth structure. This creates room for the veneers to fit comfortably and securely in your mouth.
Dr. Freano will send impressions of your teeth along with treatment specifications to a highly talented ceramist, who will hand-fabricate each tooth veneer in a dental laboratory. It generally takes about 3 weeks for Dr. Freano to receive your final restorations.
At your final appointment, Dr. Freano will try the veneers on your teeth, adjust them if necessary for a secure and comfortable fit and then cement them to the teeth for a permanent restoration. He will provide any specific long term care instructions for maintaining your new smile.
