Dr. Doyle Freano is your trusted and experienced dentist in Lexington, KY. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1980 with a Biology degree. He is a 1982 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry where he received awards from the Pierre Fauchard Academy and from the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society.

The Pierre Fauchard Award is given annually to the Outstanding Senior Dental student selected by the Faculty and peers for scholastic excellence, dedication to the profession of dentistry, and service to their fellow man. The Omicron Kappa Upsilon Certificate of Achievement recognizes superior academic achievement in the top ten percent of the class for the academic year.

Meet Dr. Doyle Freano, our dentist in Lexington KY

Dr. Freano began his full-time private general practice in Lexington Kentucky in 1984. He joined the Faculty of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry from 1985-1992 as an Associate Faculty in the department of Oral Diagnosis and Oral Medicine on a part-time basis.

Dr. Freano has completed numerous continuing education courses throughout his years of practice. Of particular interest, he completed the International Dental Institute “Comprehensive Approach to Dental-Facial Orthopedics in the Permanent Dentition” Level 4 in Montreal, Canada.

He is a certified Invisalign Preferred Doctor since 2003 and has successfully completed several hundred adult and child orthodontic cases in his general dental practice. Beginning in 1997, Dr. Freano attended the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg Florida completing the Core Curriculum and receiving “The Concept of Complete Dentistry Award”.

He was invited to join the Dawson Academy as an Associate Faculty in 2004 and has been active in teaching continuing education courses for Dentists from all over the world who have attended the Dawson Academy.

He was the President of the Dawson Academy Alumni Association for six years and produced 60 webinars entitled “Dawson Live” for continuing education for Dentists seeking to offer complete care to their patients.The Dawson Academy provides training to dentists worldwide with a focus on understanding how Tempromandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders and bite-related problems can be solved with comprehensive dental treatment.

In 2014, Dr. Freano received the “Passion for Dentistry Award” given annually by the Dawson Academy in recognition of his “passion for and dedication to the profession of dentistry”.

Dr. Freano has maintained his membership in the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, and the Bluegrass Dental Society his entire practice. He is the past Vice-President of the Bluegrass Dental Society.

In addition, Dr. Freano has volunteered for many different organizations during his life in Lexington. He has been active in several church-sponsored activities, he coached youth baseball for over a decade with the South Lexington Youth Baseball organization, and he coached youth basketball with the Lexington Junior Pro League.

He served as a volunteer tutor at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning and is a past graduate of the Commerce Lexington “Leadership Lexington” program and served on the Steering Committee of Leadership Lexington.

Dr. Freano resides in Lexington. He has three adult children: Erin, who is a nurse in Louisville, Ky, Brian, who is a lawyer in Santa Monica, California, and Elyse, who resides in Lexington, KY.
